A little Ray of Sunshine

ray of sunshine
Came into the world when I picked up the results for last weeks darts matches. Lo and behold our rival for fourth spot, the Tavern Murphies had also lost. we lost to the bottom side they lost to the second from bottom side!
So we are still alive for the finals!
All we need to do is win next week and our game clear and improved percentage will mean that fourth spot will be ours! Of course that was exactly the same position we were in last week so it's not odds on that we shall win but at least we will have our best team available.
A practice night was held last night, which is starting to be a tradition on a Wednesday night of late although only Don and Chris turned up this time. Chris improved out of sight and actually beat Don in a set of singles, shooting a 22 dart game in the process, but still the overall theme was one of missed doubles. Again.
I got pissed off with throwing 26's so went to the Bull instead of 20, threw a ton never got less than 45 and won the game easily. methinks I shall try that tactic again on Monday night because if you keep hitting the bull they get pissed off quicker than if you are hitting a triple 20! fluke arse and other colloquial expressions were used to no avail. I am inspired by abuse!
Go East Enders!

Thats it Then

That's the end of the race to the finals for the East Enders darts team. Despite being in a winning position and accruing heaps of percentage its no good if you need two points and go down in the last game and lose the match 6-5. What's worse is the fact that we only needed to win 1 out of the last four singles and lost the bloody lot.
I played the worst singles game of the season and despite that had two chances to win a game and push for the third decider but wired out both times. Don won his first match and lost the next two. Chris won his second match and lost the decider and Ralph got beaten by the same player that had beaten Ron 2-0 in our first round match against this side. The doubles went 2-1 their way and both times we were ahead only to lose the last two.
So rather than thinking finals we can think about scoring the finals!
Unless the team that is rivalling us for fourth spot had a similar brain fade and lost also!.
Hope springs eternal in a losers breast!
