Oh 'G'

It was great to sit with 98000 other people on Friday night and watch the Cats scrape over the line against the Magpies. There is nothing like being at a big game, pity we cant get tickets for THE big game, and watching the players throwing themselves into every contest, feeling the tension rise as first one team gets ahead and then the other pegs them back and the roles reversed until YOUR team gets over the winning line in front and you can feel relaxed at last!.
Before the game we ventured to a nice Irish themed pub, Bridie O'Reilly, for tea and a couple of Guinness before walking to to the ground with the crowd around us getting bigger and bigger the closer to the "G" we got. Good seats on the second level behind the City end goal meant we could get a good view of the action and the big screen replay. There is something tribal about the shouts of "BALL" from 98000 , well 49000 as half went for the other side, as a player got caught in possession and relief as the umpire crosses himself and takes a ball up. It was a classic final.
Anyway the next day it was off to Bill and Olivia's to have a nurse and babysit of the grandchildren as Bill and Olivia went off to see if they could buy a house. Which they did!
So it was a double celebration at tea for Olivia's birthday and their new ownership! The house is near their current place so moving won't be too much of a hassle when the time comes.
Quite a happy weekend.
Back home on Sunday and the dogs were happy to see us and be let out of their yard for a run through the Pines, then I watched the replay on Fox so that I could relive the excitement again!
I wished I'd known at the time that there were only 3 seconds to go when the umpire elected for a ball up!
Go Cats!
