Melbourne and back
John and I had a trip to Melbourne. First to see baby Eleanor the new addition to the Keenan family. Olivia and Bill have done what Nuran and I failed to do and that is produce a daughter. Well we had four fine sons and that carries a certain prestige in some cultures but a baby girl is something else!
And to take full value of the trip John and I ventured to the MCG to be part of an 85000 plus crowd watching the Mighty Cats ( Geelong) play and beat Collingwood on Saturday afternoon and to a pub in Richmond whilst waiting for an empty train home.We only got into a little bit of trouble and Matilda drove me back to Waverley where we were staying.
Babies sleep and wet nappies so your quality time with them is a bit restricted at this age and when Eleanor ended up wet in my arms I did the right thing and handed her back to Mum as the last time I change one of those infernal paper nappies I put it on back to front. With a girl it probably doesn't make much of a difference but with Julian it did! I like the old cloth ones, that were folded and pinned and lasted a countless number of widdles. But then I am stuck in time.I did manage to humpty doodle Julian until he got sick of it and then a "one two three SWING "with Bill holding one hand and me the other on the way back from the park. He is a bright spark is Julian and understands heaps of commands and words but at the moment, just like a man, he just grunts in reply!
Still home beckoned and we left on Sunday to get back
in daylight and cook tea.We left Nuran in Melbourne cooking cleaning and sewing and tending to grand daughters. So John and I are having to cope with the vagaries of the washing and the wet weather, thank heaven for dryers! The cooking is the easy part. Kangaroo sausages are a treat and John had rainbow trout..... the simple meals are the best.
It won't be long before Nuran is home I suspect, just about the time I get used to being a bachelor again!
I cant post any picture of Eleanor as the camera's program is not on this useless computer. I have a new one coming soon , I hope and then the blog and the website can get embellished again but windows 98 is a bit restrictive.
Go cats.
Hooray for Eleanor and a big cheer for Bill and Olivia. Parents of two in such a short time! Time for a third?
