Shopping Around

Today is shopping day , BIG shopping day, BIG shopping day because today is payday or pension day or Newstart day in fact it can be either ,depending on your perception, and we are of to town. I go mainly as the chauffeur and Nuran does the spending on groceries. All over town we go, to every supermarket chasing bargains, to the main shopping centre to see what is there , to the butchers for bones for the dog and meat for me, much the same thing according to Nuran when she is a bad mood. She likes spending the money and getting the bargains but doesn't like the empty purse when we get home with a car full of stuff. I get an input into the meat selection which is another reason for me to go and push the trolley to the car. I notice that there is a new occupation for retired men, trolley pushing. I often meet some old acquaintances, well they would be old if they are the same age as me, pushing their wife's trolley, like me up and down the aisles. We talk briefly as the wives stroll on, in control of the list, picking their bounty off the shelves and cutting the conversation short with a backward beckoning glance. I rebelled once and refused to go town but Nuran came back with sore shoulders and everything else it seemed from manhandling groceries so I was forced back into harness again.
Sometimes I break free from my bondage and skip to the Reject shop for a couple of things and the Homebrew shop for the darts result and maybe a can of homebrew whilst she shops for a few items , mind you I have to be back in time to pack the bags. Now that is one thing I don't mind doing as I can select the groceries into logical order so the girl doesn't have to have more than one bag going at a time. At least they pack here, not like in England where the lazy chicks sit down on the job and don't pack or even give you a nice smile.
Then after about 3 hours , yes 3 bloody hours, we can go home.It takes that long on a good day but sometimes you have to double back because where the list says to buy something doesn't have it after all, that's when I start to get frustrated. Why can't we shop at one place, which we do on a small shopping day, to save money? Because then every shopping day would be the same and sometimes one of the other shops has a bargain!
Oh well the day is fine even if a cold wind is blowing and I have given the dogs a run so off to town it is.... and I am going to see how much a tool shed is to cover the bore pump...I can do that whilst Nuran is shopping as I already have the darts results.

Win some lose some

What a mixed bag of emotions last night at darts. First I pegged a triple game and we won that, then i stood out from a double game and was selected to play first single. Up we went my team mate and I and played the games of our lives winning both of them 2-0 then it was discovered we had each beaten the wrong opponent! A hurried conference was arranged and it was decided that the singles would have to be replayed on the right boards against the correct opponents. The confusion came because the Commercial Hotel for a reason best known to a madman number their boards from the right not the left like the rest of the world. But no matter it was an extra game for each of us, value for money, I again played the game of my life scoring well but this time the opponent was as good and had the shot and pegged out before I could get a go at my double. The second game I again played a high scoring game but she stayed with me, I had a shot at the double and blew the second dart so had to use the third dart to leave another double. I thought I had her but no she pegged out with her third dart. A high standard game for our grade but a loss. Still Martin won but this time in 3 games and then the rest of the team won enough singles to win the night. I think I averaged over 16 overall and over 18 for the singles so I was pleased with how I played. And pissed off with the error. If a committee member had not been in the pub at the time I bet the first result would have stood as no one knew the rules.
Talking about winsome.... hows about Nuran and her pearls....... Bill Julian and Olivia gave her the earrings for mothers day and she looks grand wearing her jewellery doesn't she?

It costs nothing to be bald

mals head
Ah there are days when I am glad to be bald and today is one of those days. I needed a haircut as what little grey hair I had was starting to curl over my ears so I called to Nuran to give me a trim. It's so easy for her now as I clip on the No.2 comb to the electric hair cutters and she merrily trims the errant hair until all is neat and tidy again. a quick trim around the ears where the cutters can't roam and a No. 0 over the top and in five minutes the job is done... and fee free too. I also save on shampoo as a quick wash under the shower head daily is all that is needed to keep my head shiny and new - well shiny.
So you see ,you hirsute Neanderthals out there, that hair is not all its cracked up to be. I don't get it in my eyes or comb it endlessly in front of mirrors, in fact I hardly ever go in front of mirrors any more as the image is always the same, perfect.
True women cant run their fingers through my hair anymore even if they wanted to, which the great majority never ever did anyway, but theymals other head can always scratch my back and I would scratch theirs if that's what pleases them. And there is no dandruff on my pillow or stray hairs in food I cook... ah.. all chefs should be bald then they wouldn't have to wear those stupid hats. Ainslie is bald but he still wears stupid hats but then he is a gay man, or at the least a happy one.
Just like me... happy that is!!!!
