Nuran's Birthday

Friday started out hot and I thought initially," bugger the dogs", as it hadn't been a good night for sleeping, but when I went outside they made a fuss and raced around the yard like dervishes. So I thought well I'll settle you down then and took them for a ride, that is I rode and they ran. That settled them down and made me hot. Nuran was fast asleep and I couldn't wish her happy birthday as it is folly to disturb someone especially on her birthday. So I made breakfast and started to read the papers when she woke up and I could wish her happy birthday. Roxy wished her happy birthday and then I started to clean the house. Friday, birthday or not, is clean up day and we had to finish before the doctors appointment to get our test results. Blood test results that is. The task was achieved and the results were good and bad. Good for Nuran and bad for me. My cholesterol has gone up and it must be an increased dose of statin for me or a change of diet. Statin is not as good as I thought so I will have to cut out cream, cheese, butter, duck eggs, peanut butter, cashews and Bhuja mix or wear the consequences. It's only gone up a little bit so I will try the change of diet!
Nuran is as healthy as a 57 year old can be after four kids and a life of worry. Have a look at her photos taken today and you can see what I mean.
At last it started to rain and John went for a bike ride and Nuran a walk in the rain. I'm not sure if they were singing in the rain but they were certainly happy when they came back. I went and tried out my new dart flights whilst they were away. I wasn't singing when they came back, they are the same flights as Barneveld uses but don't find their own way to the triple 20 as I hoped!
Anyway I cooked the evening meal, T Bones and veges to save Nuran the trouble. That turned out quite nice and now the evening is settling down. Tara has phoned , Tony has phoned, Jim has phoned and Bill has phoned.
So Nuran is happy as she deserves to be.
Happy Birthday, what's left of it, Nuran.

Hot Thursday

Today was very warm and humid. I had to get up early so the dogs could be given a run before my clock in time at the school. They like the early morning run too and we saw a white deer in the breaks. Needless to say they weren’t up to catching it but it was a graceful sight bounding away from them with ease. It turned out I didn’t need to go to the school as three other volunteers had turned up so there were a surplus of helpers. I have changed my time now to the afternoons on Friday and Monday as it means I don’t have to get up so early and no one else is around at that time.

The car has new wool seat covers after a long time. It looks plush again and the old ones have been bequeathed to the dogs. They will probably wreck them.

Seeing as it was so warm I chose to wash the dogs. Something they tolerate but don’t like….still they do stand still and give me plenty fo warning when about to shake.

Nuran was up early too, no after party blues today. You have to do this on hot days if you are wise and still want to go for a walk.

John and Roxy went and played tennis this afternoon but I reckon it was too hot for that and played darts. It was even too hot for that.

Another brew was bottled, Malcolm’s United Brewery is in full production at the moment, a Pale Ale.

Jim phoned or rather Nuran phoned Jim and his eye is getting better. There is a video of the operation on the web site but it is a pretty big file at the moment. I shall try and reduce it later You can look at it through this Eyeball movie link. Its gruesome.

So little happened today as you would expect on a hot day. Hopefully it will rain tomorrow.

happy anniversary

So today is our 36th wedding anniversary and we celebrated by going to town and spending all our money. Anyway there is a nice feast to be had tonight in celebration and without too much cooking, prawn cocktails and salmon steaks, Kentish potatoes( grown locally) and peas. Strawberries and cream to follow. Well we have had our blood test for cholesterol so we can lash out for now. A meal fit for a queen and a king. Nuran wore her kameez and looked like a queen down town today. the new mouse has arrived from Hong Kong. Four days not bad. it didn't work at first and John scoffed but whilst he went to Penola I had a brain wave and it installed alright on the usb port. Can't have two things on the one port and I hadn't uninstalled the old mouse. So when he comes back I can gloat about my computer nous!
It's fine and warm at the moment and the dogs are chewing on their bone, they get one when we go to town, fresh from the butchers. we may be poor but we eat like Kings and so do the pets.
So Wednesday is not over but with a bottle of champagne to open soon , the day will be complete and I should not write Blogs in too happy a mood. everyone reckons they can tell when I write in that state of mind! Probably by the number of wise thoughts I pen!
